CU*Answers HA Rollback Occurring Tonight

In light of the events yesterday in which we disabled the Lumen connection on our high-availability circuit, we have made the decision to end the current high-availability exercise earlier than originally planned. We will begin the rollback process tomorrow morning, Friday, March, 13, beginning just after 12:00 AM ET.

While we don’t have any reason to believe that our current redundancy isn’t able to handle the remainder of the HA rollover exercise, we do not foresee the repair to the Lumen circuit occurring before our originally planned rollback date this Sunday. As this HA event was a planned exercise with no immediate need to stay on the HA servers, we are choosing the early rollback to eliminate even the slightest risk of additional disruptions.

As with any rollback, there will be a period of approximately 60 to 90 minutes that will include an interruption to the following services: CBX, CU*Talk audio response and It’s Me 247 online banking (a splash page will be presented). Throughout the rollback process, ATM and credit card transactions will continue to operate in stand-in mode at the switch.

As a reminder, in the event that we do encounter any issues during the rollback process, they will be posted to the Alerts page, compiled into a single alert located here. We will not be sending out any emails regarding individual issues for the HA Rollback. If you encounter any issues during or after the rollback period, please refer to the Alerts page to see if it is currently a known issue.

Additionally, we are preparing a gap analysis report so that clients can review details about this event, including challenges observed, lessons learned, and recommendations for improving the rollover process. Once it has been reviewed and approved by our board we will pass it along to all credit unions for inclusion in your next board packet.
