As iOS App Store approvals for Mobile 9.0 are delayed, we can no longer commit to migrating all credit unions at once to the new cloud-based platform on August 18th.
Please read the updated information below about how the MACO re-enrollment process will happen, and how to communicate to your members about the upcoming changes to the It’s Me 247 online banking and BizLink 247 business banking mobile apps.
What is Happening Now with Phase I?
We are submitting apps for approvals, and due to delays in the iOS App Store approval process, not all apps will be updated by August 18th, the intended Phase II migration date.
When your app is approved, the changes in Mobile 9.0 remain the same;
- Members will be presented with a new UI when logging in to the mobile app using MACO authentication.
- DAON Voice for iOS and Android, as well as DAON Face for Android, will be sunset (note that for supported devices, Android Face will still be available).
- Users will need to select their preferred login method the first time they open the app after the upgrade, but each time thereafter, the preferred login method will be presented automatically.
- This upgrade to Mobile 9.0 will include the standard annual update fee, which will be reflected on your September invoice.
Phase I started August 3rd and will continue until all app updates are complete through the iOS App Store.
What’s Happening Now with Phase II?
In lieu of moving all credit unions at once to the cloud-based platform, we will now move approved Mobile 9.0 credit unions to the new MACO platform in batches over the upcoming weeks.
Phase II changes will remain the same;
- The EULA process for MACO will now exist in CU Publisher, similar to your online banking EULAs.
- Some EULA content will be updated, and members will need to accept the new EULA once on the new platform.
- MACO users will be prompted to re-enroll in services.
- Members will be presented with a mobile alert on their re-enrollment date, prompting them to re-enroll in services as a result of a security update. See the alert content examples here.
Phase II will now happen in batches, based on app store update approvals.
Knowing Your Batch Migration Date
We are working to determine the batches based on iOS approvals. We will have the first batch of credit unions determined this week, and will communicate those batches and dates as we have them. Unfortunately, we are unable to give an exact date until your credit union’s app is approved.
Suggestions for Member Communication
We suggest shifting member messaging to indicate that sometime in the upcoming weeks, re-enrollment in MACO biometric services will be required due to an upgrade. Some suggested text is,
Within the next one to two weeks, Face ID, Touch ID, and PIN (iOS) and Fingerprint and PIN (Android) will require re-enrollment. These authentication types are optional, but if you choose to re-enroll, you’ll need your online banking username, password, and security questions.
Communicating with Your Members
Mobile apps will have a default member-facing alert, with information relating to the upgrade window. If you would like custom messaging delivered to your members, Xtend is happy to assist; click below to sign up for a single send message campaign.
