The third of the “Teller 3P” (three teller platforms) projects is to create an interface between CU*BASE and a tablet or other type of teller automation hardware such as hybrid ATMs, Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), and kiosk-type equipment. Lots of questions have come in lately, therefore we are actively working on possible integrations.
Here is the status of the projects that we are working on with vendors and champion credit unions:
Hyosung: Reengaged! (Hyosung had put the project on hold in March of 2020.) Hyosung programmers are working on integrating with the API work our programmers did earlier this year. We are targeting Q3 2021 for beta testing an in-branch kiosk solution. This would allow members to perform a basic transaction set directly against CU*BASE. A few credit unions have expressed interest in going beyond this with a video teller integration to eliminate dual keying between the ITM and CU*BASE as a follow up project after the initial kiosk solution is complete. That remains to be spec’d out and scheduled.
NCR: We met on 12/2/2020 to reengage and discuss project details and a potential timeline. The NCR team shared they would not be ready to engage until Q2 2021. This would be for a video teller-type solution. It would eliminate the dual entry but also support an expanded transaction set against CU*BASE without needing teller assistance. Stay tuned for more in 2021.
Diebold Nixdorf: Integration with Diebold Nixdorf to create a kiosk-type integration has been dropped. Our communication with Diebold has gone unanswered. As a result, our champion of this project withdrew their interest in pursuing this. Remember, if you are the champion of a project, it’s on you to get your vendor to the table. As we saw here, we can’t force them to participate.
Source Technologies: This is a new vendor and a few credit unions have expressed interest in an integration to create a kiosk solution for their lobby. We are just getting started researching integration with this vendor. We have a Non-Disclosure Agreement and are actively working with Source Technologies to determine project details.
