This project changes how the Teller Line Posting In-house Checks feature works for business memberships that have been added to the CU*BASE Block List for In-house Checks/ACH. As part of the Positive Pay (powered by eDOC Innovations) service, this block list prevents in-house checks from clearing on any account that appears on this block list.
With this project, a new “Allow cashier services” flag will be available when adding an account to the block list. By activating cashier services, a teller can take a member’s check deposit, drawn on one of the credit union’s Positive Pay business memberships, and clear it in the lobby, verifying to ensure it is a valid check before clearing it as an in-house draft. To accomplish this, we’re building a new interface to the same Positive Pay process that’s used by eDOC Innovations Check 21 item processing, which verifies checks that go through normal check processing channels against the business member’s uploaded list of authorized checks.
For community credit unions that have a large volume of on-us checks against these business memberships, this new feature will save them from having to run these items through normal check processing, and also gets the deposited funds to the depositor more quickly, while still assuring the business membership that the check won’t clear unless it’s been authorized.
Status as of 9/17/2020: Project #51268 is currently in development but has not yet been slated for a release.
