Thinking Ahead to the CU*BASE 19.10 Release

ATTENTION SELF-PROCESSING CREDIT UNIONS

One of the projects to be included in the CU*BASE 19.10 release this fall will allow us to support CUs having multiple bill pay and P2P providers. Because all processing for bill pay and P2P runs through CU*Answers and our production server, we must deploy the changes for this project to all our clients at the same time. This includes our online CUs, our partners at Site-Four and all self processors. Our current plan is to deploy this change on Sunday, October 20th, 2019.

What does this mean to you?  This means that rather than applying the CU*BASE 19.10 release on a Monday or Tuesday evening, you will be getting it on Sunday, October 20th.

In any case, the release will be deployed for you. We will deploy to our online CUs first, then deploy the project to Site-Four. We would then deploy the release for all self processors starting no later than 7:00 a.m. ET and completing the process no later than 9:00 a.m. ET on Sunday morning.

You do not need to be in the office during this period.  But we will let you know when we are done, either via an email or a phone call.  The one thing we can’t do is verify that you’ve received your GOLD update.  You will need to arrange for someone to launch GOLD at some point either on Sunday or early on Monday morning to make sure that process was completed normally.

Self Processors Releases Will Be On Sundays in 2020

In addition, starting with 2020 releases we’d like to move to a Sunday update for all CU*BASE releases. Given that we no longer rely on tape or DVD drives to apply the software changes, there is no need for someone to be at your facility to deploy a CU*BASE release.

Release dates for 2019 and 2020 are posted on the Release Planning page of our website, and as you’ll see, the date for self processors will generally be scheduled one or two weeks after the normal online/Site-4 deployment is done.  Since that means we’ll only be deploying to self processors, we will be able to start an hour earlier on those dates, at approximately 6:00 a.m. ET.  Again, no one needs to be present during the release deployment itself; you’ll just need to arrange for verification of your GOLD update at some point before your doors open on Monday morning.
