Rollback from HA Scheduled for Sunday Morning, 2/17/2019

This weekend we will be rolling back CU*BASE operations from the HA backup system to PROD.  Power to our main 44th Street Production Center has been stable all week (and the ice storm that was predicted for this week is now behind us!).  So we are now ready to roll CU*BASE from the South Dakota backup facility to our normal production facility in Michigan.

The rollback process will be very similar to previous rolls, except for the starting time.  Instead of our typical Sunday night/early Monday morning process, we will be performing the roll from HA to PROD on Sunday morning, February 17, 2019.  Starting at approximately 3:30 AM ET, teams will bring CU*BASE offline at the secondary data center in Yankton, SD and start the process to move production to the primary data center in Kentwood, MI.  CU*BASE, online/mobile banking, and audio response will be offline for 45-60 minutes until the rollover process completes.  Members who attempt to use online/mobile banking will be presented with a splash page.  The rollback process is expected to be completed by 5:00 AM ET on Sunday morning the 17th.

Once the rollback is complete, starting at approximately 5:00 AM ET, Operations will begin end-of-day and beginning-of-day processing, starting with credit unions in the Eastern time zone, then Central, then Mountain, and finally Hawaii.  The same as we do every night, CUs will be placed in stand-in mode only while their specific time zone is being processed.  All time zones are expected to be completed by approximately 6:30 AM ET.

Note:  Due to the later-than-normal EOD-BOD processing, documents such as credit bureau reports, CU*Spy reports, SnapShot files, etc., may be available a little later than usual on Sunday morning.  Most should be available by about 8:00 AM ET.

A gap analysis outlining last week’s entire HA rollover event is being prepared now for presentation to our Board of Directors later this month.  Once it has been reviewed and approved by our board we will pass it along to all credit unions for inclusion in your next board packet.
